Wintering Snow Geese
I was fortunate to discover multiple large flocks of wintering snow geese at two locations within a few weeks this season. A large flock at Frenchman’s Bar Regional Park in Vancouver, Washington was estimated at 6,000 – 8,000 individuals feeding in the fields. The closer perspective images were taken from the shoreline trail at Padillia Bay in Skagit County, Washington. From the slightly elevated vantage from the trail between bay and over fields, it was the perfect opportunity to practice the challenge of photographing birds in flight.
